Lift For NOW!
Olympic weightlifting competition to benefit the National Organization for Women Foundation.
Registration will close on October 22, 2017, OR when 24 female entries and 24 male entries are received, whichever comes first. Trans athletes welcome. Genderqueer athletes welcome and will be organized according to bar selection.

LOCATION: Brooklyn Athletic Club, 8 Berry St, Brooklyn, NY 11249
AWARDS: Awards will be given to 1st place in each weight class and to the best female and male lifters by Sinclair. Best male and female lifter awards will be given at the conclusion of Session 4.
RULES: While this is a non-sanctioned meet, lifting is subject to a USAW/IWF rules for competition. Athletes must make one good attempt at both Snatch and Clean & Jerk to be eligible for awards.
If this is your first competition and you feel you don't have a complete understanding of what qualifies as a good lift, don't worry. More explanation regarding general rules for all lifts as well as incorrect/incomplete movements will be distributed to athletes upon registration.
*Note that weight classes are listed by heaviest weight within that class. In other words, 48kg lifters weigh 48.0 kilos or less; 53kg lifters weigh between 48.01 and 53.0 kilos; and so on.

Meet Director: Jane Orgel
Jane has been weightlifting for 4 years. She is a USAW-certified local referee and has officiated over a dozen local meets, and most recently sat as a referee at the American Open Series II in Miami. She's coordinated officials for the Brooklyn Barbell Open for the past two years and is excited to host Lift for NOW with the support of Women's Strength Coalition and Brooklyn Athletic Club.
